Craving Norms

At times I
Just want to be like you
A little freer
A little 'less me'
Like Nina wished.
Sometimes I don't want to write poems
But I still wrote this
So its rounded square one.
To be like you
Without the heats of doubt,
The weeping of worry or loss or something
There's always something
To bring heightened heartbeats
Not the ones
That precede some great feat
Or await a lover's smile at gifts
Those heartbeats that tremor;
The harsher kind.
The loneliness in groups
Craving norms
A simple sincere laugh
Or more;
Just not with nobody

Run & Hide

Find yourself
On a highway
Breeze lifting,
Sifting through your hair,
To find what,
Tears dragged backwards
As you drive to blurry destinations
Passing unknown junctions
You left yours behind
To reveal your own secrets
Told to none
Known unknowns

Gently and attentively
Walking
Through quaint alleyways
Hoping to find pieces of soul
Hidden in the crevices
Of the lost art of architecture
Or in rusty hinges of doors you don't see
Where you're from
Wherever that is.

Taking cautious sips
Of warm drink
Watching, searching
For a mirror amongst the myriad
Listening out
For revelatory conversation
From the strange
Attempting to extract
Profundity from chaos
Or inner peace
From outer silence

Run
And hide
To learn you.
